How to recycle your cosmetics correctly

If we recycle kitchen waste every day, why not do it with bathroom waste? Our cosmetics have a significant impact on the environment if we do not recycle them correctly, since some are made from plastics and non-recyclable materials. Stay to discover how to recycle your cosmetics correctly and contribute another grain of sand to the care of our planet. A very eco-friendly routine!

You may not know the rules so that your cosmetics can be recycled, since it is not as simple as throwing them into their corresponding container. Therefore, here we leave you some key points so as not to fail:

  • Separate the dispensers, sprayers and lids of the rest of the container. These parts of the product are not recyclable, and you will need to remove them to ensure that your empty cosmetic is recycled perfectly.
  • Be sure to that there are no traces of product inside the container and rinse them with plenty of water. If the liquid is mixed with other materials it can ruin its recyclability.
  • Remove all labels that are attached to the containers, they are not suitable for recycling either!

But be careful! Although more and more 100% products are recyclable, not all cosmetics can be recycled. This is the case of lids, mascara brushes, nail polishes, containers with magnets or mirrors, and makeup brushes. The best option in this case is give them a second life. Explode your imagination and give them a new function!

Once you have the cosmetics separated and ready to recycle, take them to the nearest recycling point, deposit them in their corresponding containers, usually it will be the yellow one, and that's it!

Even so, the task of caring for the environment does not end here, the real change is in consumption. That's why try to buy and consume cosmetic lines with recyclable 100% packaging, made from recycled or biodegradable materials is the best solution. This is the case of the line Agrado Nature Botanicals, two hair care treatments that, in addition to deeply caring for your hair using natural ingredients, also take care of the planet. Thanks to its single-material composition, it does not require us to separate its components to give them a new life, so the task of recycling your cosmetics will be much easier!

Every change in your routine counts, and at Agrado we encourage you to join in these small gestures with us. Now that you know how to do it and how to recycle your cosmetics correctly, do you accept the challenge?
